Where have I been? And where has time gone?

My goodness it's hard to believe 2008 we're half way through the 5th month of the year!!! In January my dear aunt (whom I blogged about in Dec.) joined the angels in heaven. I was able to make a trip back home to my beloved Shenandoah Valley, VA to celebrate her life and spend some good time with family and some friends. My dear husband and friends were so gracious to make sure things here on the island with the children, the dog and the house were taken care of for me to make the trip back to the mainland. My goodness my blood has thinned and my body has been quite spoiled w/ the mild temperatures of HI. IT'S COLD in VA in Jan and Feb (of course, not nearly as cold as it was in upstate NY). Can I just tell you how excited I was to see SNOW as I was flying into Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C.!?! There wasn't much on the ground, but it was a beautiful site none the less. I do love Hawaii and give thanks each day I am blessed to live in this beautiful little paradise. None the less, I think God blesses us w/ the changing of seasons so we may remember the seasons of our life. There is beauty in everything no matter what the time of year. And dare I say summer might be my least favorite season of all? (Don't get me wrong I enjoy not having to be wrapped in layers upon layers of clothing.) I arrived back on island just in time to spend Valentine's Day w/ my loves (husband, children & dog) and it was wonderful. We've been busy just enjoying each and every day we have together as a family. Being an Army family and facing frequent separation we have realized each day we have together is a blessing and we enjoy them.

With "spring" and new beginnings our family will soon be finding ourselves in a new home! Today I got the call from housing and they have our brand new house ready for us! I'll be signing for the keys for it later today. We are very excited and looking forward to a new place to stash our "slippers" (flip flops as we call them on the mainland). Keep an eye out here, I'll have pictures soon!

It's time for me to visit the sandman but I'll be back very soon.

With much love & Aloha,
V
